Caymus Family Wine Dinner at Ruth Chris
In 1971 Charlie Wagner and his wife Lorna Belle Glos Wagner asked their son Chuck Wagner, who had just graduated from high school, if he would be interested in joining them in starting up a winery. If Chuck declined the offer, Charlie and Lorna were planning to sell out of their ranch in Napa Valley and move to Australia. Chuck accepted his parents' offer to launch the winery, Caymus Vineyards. The Wagners produced their first vintage in 1972, consisting of 240 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon. Since then, Caymus has focused their efforts in the production of quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The Wagner family is the upper echelon royalty of winemaking familys in Napa Valley. 83 of the Wagner Family of wines have scored 90+ wines by the Spectator. Yes, EIGHTY THREE. We are very excited to pour the current releases of the Wagner Family of wines along with an awesome dinner hosted by Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in uptown Charlotte. 30 seats on lock down for this event. $85 per person all-inclusive.

Additional information on the Wagners: Per Mr. Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate, "Caymus has one of the most enviable track records of any California winery. Having followed their Cab Sauvs since the early seventies, I find it remarkable that this winery has never gone through a slump. Not many wineries, anywhere in the world, can match the Wagner family's consistent record of success." Per Wine Spectator, "Only two wineries, Caymus and Beringer, have twice had wines of the year. Only one wine, Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon has won the honor twice (winning in 1994 with the 1990 the vintage and in 1989 with the 1984 vintage). Both of Caymus' wines came from Caymus' Rutherford estate, and the winery and this wine have maintained an unusually high level of quality with a string of outstanding wines."
